Globalization Download Center

About Globalization

Globalization Consolidation consists of translation of messages, Help, and documentation as well as codes pertaining to internationalization and localization. Pieces of this consolidation will be released separately. Globalization will start with translations of content provided by the available Consolidations.

Source Code

I18n/L10n source code including translations is available in this Download Center as well as in the Source Browser. Closed sources are made available as binaries.

Most of translations are available in the following languages: French, German, Italian, Spanish, Swedish, Japanese, Korean, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese.

  • The tarballs in the Download Center are a contribution from Sun Microsystems, Inc.
  • All translations are made available under CDDL, unless noted otherwise.
  • Globalization plans to update the downloadable sources bi-weekly, unless there is no change in the source or binary.

How to Contribute

  • Join existing language group(s)
  • Request to create a new language group
  • Request an Internationalization & Localization community sponsor at request dash sponsor at opensolaris dot org
  • Create/enhance glossary in your language
  • File bugs at http://bugs.opensolaris.org.
  • Fix bugs that are marked oss-bite-size in bugs.opensolaris.org
  • Translate Solaris documentation. How to translate Solaris documentation – PDF, Sketchpad wiki.
